D & R offers technical
manuals in both paper and
electronic
media. Leading
edge tools and equipment complement our highly skilled staff to produce state-of-the-art electronic documentation in media such
as SGML, HTML, XML, and other commonly used electronic formats. Or, for
those that desire hard copy, we can provide output
products as high-resolution color and black
and white master reproducible paper manuals. Documents range from one page
fact sheets and brochures for small businesses to complete operating and
maintenance manual suites for highly complex military and commercial
systems.
Our staff is capable of creating technical documentation from
raw engineering source data, extracting vital technical information by
interviewing cognizant engineering personnel, and by documenting the
step-by-step instructions while actually performing the tasks. Included
in our technical writing staff are Aeronautical, Electrical, and Mechanical
Engineers; personnel with degrees in Technical
Communications and Computer Science; and military weapons system and
commercial systems technicians.
The knowledge and experience of
our writing staff has earned D & R an excellent reputation in the
industry. Major corporations have us perform third party
audits of documentation created by other companies and organizations. These audits range from evaluating a company's entire technical
documentation process for adequacy to reviewing each document created
for quality, organization, depth and compliance to requirements.
In addition to the technical
manuals we develop, we have also created a variety of automation tools. Of particular interest is our internally developed tool, the
Automated Parts Cataloging System (APCS) which is commercially
available. This tool is MS
Access based and it automates the development of parts catalogs through
user-interfaces. Through the use of automated import routines that load
customer bills of material, parts data is controlled to ensure
consistency of common data elements and fields. It has built-in
automated export routines that interface to common word-processing and
desktop publishing software for final formatting of the parts catalog. This tool is available for demonstration
upon request.
A spin off service of our
technical documentation business is our ISO 9000 guidance and
documentation. D & R has a thorough understanding
of the requirements of an ISO 9000 quality
system and assists other companies in establishing a
quality system that meets ISO 9000 requirements. Included in this
service is the development of a quality manual
and the documentation of all internal processes within our customer's business. Our ISO 9000 guidance and documentation aligns a company to complete ISO
9000 registration by an authorized registrar. Our technical documentation products cover the
entire spectrum of technical manuals. From hand held preflight
checklists to 100% breakout IPBs/IPCs, to presentations and simple
marketing brochures, our staff has the experience and know-how to make
